Finding the right players to trade for or trade away can make a big difference in your fantasy season. Here are four buy-low targets and four sell-high candidates based on their current value and rest-of-season outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carroll has been ice cold over the last couple of months, but he is starting to show signs of picking things up. His trade value in most fantasy leagues is likely very low, which makes this the perfect time to trade for him before it is too late. I think he will put together another 30-30 season, and it is only a matter of time before his trade value begins to reflect his true worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ramirez recently returned from a long absence and may still be valued more like a top-30 player than the first-round talent he is. His injury was to his hand, so he should still be capable of producing stolen bases. The Guardians are also in the playoff race and will be trying to win as many games as possible. I would trade for Ramirez now before he plays enough games for his value to rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raleigh\u2019s numbers so far have been awful, especially by his standards. He is coming off a historic 60-home-run season and was drafted as early as the second round. While I think that price was an overreaction and last season may have been an outlier, Raleigh can still provide around 30 home runs in a normal full season, which is difficult to find at catcher. I would value him as roughly a top-75 player, and you may be able to trade for him without giving up much because he has even been dropped in some leagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is rarely a better buy-low opportunity than when a pitcher gets blown up and his fantasy manager overreacts. This is the time to target Braxton Ashcraft after two consecutive rough outings. In his most recent start, he allowed seven earned runs to the Yankees in just three innings. Some managers may believe his early-season success is over and consider dropping him, but I would not make that mistake yet. Ashcraft, a former top prospect in the Pirates organization, still has the talent to be a quality starting pitcher. His strong performance earlier in the season should not be ignored because of two bad starts. I would target him at a major discount. The downside is of acquiring him is limited, but the upside could be a pitcher who helps win your league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who better to sell high than the number-one-ranked player in many leagues? Don\u2019t get me wrong\u2014Misiorowski has been incredible and nearly impossible to hit, but I think this is the time to sell. His value is at an all-time high, and I\u2019m concerned about how much he will pitch down the stretch. The Brewers will want their ace available in October and have already started being cautious with him. He skipped a start before the All-Star break, was held out of the All-Star Game, and then pitched only four innings in his most recent start. Considering how hard he throws, his limited workload in previous seasons, and his value to the organization, I would trade Misiorowski for a superstar hitter before it is too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assuming it is not already too late, sell Marsh as soon as possible. His batting average is beginning to fall, his power is fading, and he is starting to look more like a solid role player than the star fantasy managers thought they found on waivers. Trade him for any useful value you can get, because otherwise you may eventually drop him for nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lopez batted only .246 last season, so it is likely only a matter of time before his current average above .300 continues to fall. He does not provide much value outside of batting average, runs, and stolen bases. If his average drops, his opportunities for runs and steals could decline as well. I would try to trade Lopez for a similarly ranked player while his value is still high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His value has likely taken a hit already due to his injury, but most people could probably still trade Ohtani for ace value. Similar to Misiorowski, his team values him being healthy in October rather than having regular-season success. With the Dodgers practically a guarantee to be in the postseason, the team will likely want to take it easy with their ace, who also happens to be their best hitter. He is already sidelined from the mound for now, and who knows how much he will actually end up pitching for the rest of the regular season. I would try to trade him for a more reliable ace and avoid Ohtani and the risks that come with him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
